POSITION DESCRIPTION Zayo is seeking an Outside Plant Test & Acceptance Project Manager (OSP PM) who will contribute to large scale strategic Customer projects. The role will initially contribute to a key initiative to standardize Zayo’s legacy dark fiber service records in the field and within various ordering, design, GIS, and billing systems. This initiative will enhance operational efficiency, streamline maintenance, and improve accuracy in troubleshooting and network redesign. This exciting initiative is national in scope and will focus on Zayo’s largest dark fiber Customers, including both Long Haul and Metro Dark Fiber services. Our Outside Plant Fiber Test & Acceptance Project Manager will work directly with internal project team members, internal stakeholders, and contracted field resources to plan, budget, audit, re-inventory, and occasionally test or trace specific services (where required). The OSP PM will manage contractor quotes and budgets, coordinate field work to completion, and ensure redlines and close out packages are prepared with quality and to standard. We're open to this role working in a remote capacity within the United States. Responsibilities · Responsible for daily management of OSP vendors to plan and execute field inventory activities (audit, re-inventory, redline, closeout packages) · Coordinate access to customer and network points of presence for vendors. · Assist in the planning and development of “Scope of Work” documentation for third party vendors in specific markets and on specific long haul routes. · Recommend contract vendor award, establish budgets for field work, issue and manage purchase requisitions, and ensure vendors perform to specification · Report and manage budget performance for specific market projects and long haul routes. · Coordinate and facilitate internal and external resources to complete project work on time and without unplanned outage or incident. · Work within a Data Center environment implementing customer services audits, and re-inventory/re-labeling, for multiple Customers within the market. · Work within a Data Center environment implementing and/or auditing customer services. Primary focus will be on auditing and re-inventory/re-labeling of both OSP and ISP panels and patch cords through to Customer handoff (CFA) for multiple Customers within the market. · Provide a real-time direct interface with customers, subcontractors, jurisdictional authorities and interoffice personnel to execute planned activities and to resolve field issues. · Participate in customer meetings as necessaryto provide status and/or to plan remedial actions that may require traffic drains and intrusive testing . · Create and/or inspect and update project redlines and close out documentation. “On duty” to respond to network outages and emergency restoration activities in response to an outage caused directly project related work. Potential for future “on call” rotation. Qualifications · Bachelors’ Degree, preferred. · Minimum of 5 years in the telecommunications industry with outside plant, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and project management experience. · Fiber optic cable splicing and testing knowledge not required but preference will be given to candidates with this experience. · Minimum of 3 years' familiarity with all types of outside plant construction and experience managing large capital projects. · Familiar with Email, Word, Google Earth and AutoCad. · Advanced skill with MS Excel, MS Visio · Ability to manage multiple aggressive Customer schedules and competing priorities · Ability to understand and read construction and fiber splicing documents. · Familiarity with all facets of OSP management, including quoting, construction, troubleshooting and delivery. · Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to occasionally drive to assigned locations in order to ensure on time and on budget delivery (future potential). · Ability to perform on-site surveys and attend occasional field meetings to ensure projects meet the delivery/ commitment dates identified. Estimated base salary range: $68,100 - $104,700 USD/annually. The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan. Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
