Overview The Outside Rental Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships within an assigned territory. This role focuses on identifying equipment rental and sales opportunities, visiting job sites and offices, and providing solutions that meet customer needs while promoting Blanchard Machinery’s full range of rental products and services. Responsibilities Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission and values of BMC. Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment. Provide initial contact with customers, determining rental needs, qualifying opportunities, and executing and closing rental deals. Conduct daily customer visits and calls to develop new business and maintain existing relationships. Provide direct assistance to walk-in and call-in customers, ensuring exceptional service and responsiveness. Follow up on rental leads generated by other sales representatives, service associates, or marketing campaigns. Perform telemarketing and prospecting activities to verify and maintain accurate customer data and market information. Present equipment specifications, applications, and basic operator training to customers as needed. Make routine follow-up site visits to ensure customer satisfaction and identify additional business opportunities. Partner closely with the Inside Rental Team to ensure rental agreements, contracts, and documentation are accurate and complete. Collaborate with service and operations teams to resolve customer issues and support successful project outcomes. Provide timely and accurate completion of required business reports such as call logs, expense reports, and CRM updates. Participate in industry events and local associations to build relationships and strengthen Blanchard’s brand visibility. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the machine rental industry is preferred. Sales experience preferred. Excellent organizational and time management skills required. Ability to set and keep priorities and professionally handle the stress associated with dealing with a fast paced industry and time frames is a must. Must be an enthusiastic, hard worker with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision. Excellent computer skills to include use of Microsoft Office and other proprietary software is required. Must have a high degree of inter-personal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills. Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license and meet company driving policy requirements. Working Conditions The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily inside throughout the day, however this position may also require working in non-climate-controlled environments as well as outdoors. Position requires employees to be physically present at designated worksite locations. Required use of personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials. Requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting. Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities. Use of computers and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.
