JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who possesses a strong work ethic, speaking, and negotiation abilities and an interest in the construction industry to fill our Outside Sales Associate position. Having a background in selling lumber and trusses is a plus. The ideal candidate will prospect and generate new commercial business as well as perform cold calls in the field to generate new permanent sales. This candidate will support existing clients and conduct product demonstrations.
You will be assigned an Inside Sales Coordinator to assist. We provide vehicle allowance, gas allowance, mobile phone, competitive benefits package, and offers a tremendous opportunity for upward mobility. This position reports to the Outside Sales Manager.

Associated Truss & Lumber Co. is a growing company that specializes in designing quality roof and floor trusses to exact customer specification using the state of the art MiTek® design software and lumber sale in the manufacturing industry. We are a family-owned local business with 110 local employees that mold and drive the company where it is today.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Background in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field highly preferred.
  • Extensive experience in lumber, floor, and roof trusses in commercial and multifamily businesses preferred.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Deadline and detail-oriented

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED (Required).
  • Degree in a 4-year accredited university (Preferred).
  • Previous sales experience in lumber and/or trusses.
Responsibilities
  • Present and sell company products and services to new and existing customers.
  • Prospect and contact potential customers both in the residential and commercial fields.
  • Reach agreed upon sales targets by the deadline.
  • Resolve customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Set follow-up appointments to keep customers aware of the latest developments.
  • Perform building material take-offs.
  • Travel regularly throughout the area to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talk with customers by phone.
  • Coordinate with Inside Sales Coordinator for estimating, quotes, and to keep account activities up to date.
  • Collaborate with the Design and Estimating Team to ensure design accuracy and the delivery deadline are met.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships.
