More about the role This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a (Outsourcing operations engineer) in (Shanghai) with Signify. This role is responsible for supporting & driving the optimization of the industrial process at the respective manufacturing partner Responsible for coordinating engineering & improvement projects through partner resources to meet operational and cost improvement objectives Provide direction and guidance with partners to improve industrial capacity, cost, and quality through troubleshooting, root cause analysis and improvement projects. Supports implementation and continuous improvement of standard production system Scopes, co-develops and coordinates complexity engineering & improvement projects with manufacturing partner Responsible to monitor operational performance, Signal and advise on improvement area’s. Leads, performs, and or advises on advanced technical/SCM analysis and feasibility studies for project scope, costs, and benefits Coordinates together with SAM (CT) actions regarding MVA or BOM cost improvement objectives, and monitor related actions on the ground. Supports implementation and continuous improvement of standard production system collaborating with other manufacturing teams More about you Technical Understanding and Process Knowledge: Understanding the manufacturing processes (e.g., SMT, injection molding, assembly) and industry standards of the managed components. This forms the basis for technical communication with suppliers. Quality Management Tools: Proficient in using the QC Seven Tools and 8D Reports to analyze quality issues, and familiar with quality management systems like IATF 16949/ISO 9001, as well as tools like PPAP and GR&R. Data Analysis Skills: Ability to analyze supplier delivery and quality data, and use tools for cost and delivery performance analysis. Communication and Coordination Skills: Frequent and effective communication with internal production, R&D departments, and external suppliers is necessary. Problem-Solving Skills: Applying engineering thinking to systematically analyze root causes of problems and drive solutions. Stress Resistance and Project Management Skills: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage project progress. Educational Background: A bachelor's degree or higher is typically required, with a preference for backgrounds in engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Materials, Electronics, or Automation. Work Experience: 3 years or more of relevant experience in supplier management. Experience in specific industries (e.g. consumer electronics) is preferred Language Skills: Good English proficiency is commonly required, mainly for handling technical documents, email communication, and meetings.
