Job Details Job Location: OVAL - KEARNS, UT Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time Salary Range: Undisclosed Job Category: Customer Service Description About the Utah Olympic Oval Built in 2001 for the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympic Games, the Utah Olympic Oval houses Utah’s only 400-meter speed skating oval, two international sized ice sheets, and a state-of-the-art four lane 442-meter running track. Today, it is a dynamic multi-use facility focused on developing and growing participation in ice sports in Utah. As a part of the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation, our mission is to cultivate champions in sport and in life, deliver experiences that inspire communities, and celebrate our Olympic Legacy for years to come. About the role As a Guest Services I, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests, athletes, and coaches. You will be the first point of contact, greeting visitors when they arrive, while providing information and answering questions about activities and programs at the UOO. Major Tasks and Responsibilities Have knowledge of daily events/activities going on at the Oval Keep work area clean, clear and organized Distribute and collect skate rental skates to guests Serve as event host/hostess for various facility events Work on daily duties and projects assigned by Lead/MOD File necessary paperwork Current and certified in First Aid Current and certified in Food Handling and in Fire Safety Up to date on food handling process in concessions; current on all policies and procedures concerning concessions stand Complete all required in-house training, in-person and in Paycom Including cross-training for all Guest Services staff to help out in the following areas as needed: safety/first aid, front desk, concessions, and skate rental All other job responsibilities as assigned Required Knowledge and Essential Skills Skate guard - proficient in ice skating Front desk/concession – proficient in handling financial and F&B situations Comfortable answering a phone, as well as, taking and leaving/relaying an appropriate message Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rates, discounts and percentages Excellent communication skills and a friendly personality Ability to develop and maintain a strong rapport with both internal and external customers Work with the public and office administration to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction Proven organizational skills and detail oriented Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle high volume customer service activity in a professional manner Must enjoy working in a team environment Self-starter attitude Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently Must be able to consistently meet deadlines and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness Candidate requirements Must be at least 15 years of age Flexible work schedule – ability to work evening and weekend hours, particularly Saturdays Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts (printer, copier, fax machine, rolling ovens etc.) Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to ice-skate, sit or stand; walk; use repetitive wrist movements; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel, crouch or twist Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus Hearing - to converse with other is a normal conversation Balancing, bending, climbing, kneeling, walking, pushing, reaching above shoulders, and sitting Employee Benefits/Perks Unlimited skating for you, your family and friends. 20% discount on concessions and birthday parties.
