JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Overlock Sewing Machinist is responsible for assembling, joining, and finishing knitted jumpers using industrial overlock sewing machines. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently to meet production targets while maintaining quality standards.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Proven experience operating overlock sewing machines in a garment manufacturing environment, preferably with knitted fabrics.
• Strong understanding of garment construction and sewing techniques for knitted jumpers.
• Ability to interpret patterns, sewing guides, and technical instructions.
• Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Knowledge of basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Operate overlock sewing machines to stitch, seam, and finish knitted jumper components according to production specifications.
• Align and position fabric to ensure accurate and consistent stitching.
• Inspect fabrics for defects and ensure quality control throughout the sewing process.
• Follow patterns and technical specifications to produce high-quality garments.
• Adjust machine settings, such as tension, stitch length, and speed, as necessary.
• Monitor machine operations and troubleshoot issues to ensure smooth production flow.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and housekeeping standards.
• Collaborate with quality control inspectors to identify and correct sewing faults.
• Report machine malfunctions and maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of production output and completed work.
