POSITION SUMMARY We are currently seeking an overnight Rehabilitation Therapist, who will be responsible for providing supervision and support to individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABIs). This position is based out of our Etobicoke Residential Rehabilitation site, which is a group-home setting that provides 24 hour care and programming for clients with ABIs and concurrent physical, mental, behavioural, and/or substance use challenges. With provision of comprehensive multi-disciplinary programs, clients are engaged in daily functional rehab and meaningful/productive activities. As a Rehabilitation Therapist, you will be part of a team that endeavors to deliver specialized care in order for clients to make strides in their recovery. QUALIFICATIONS Post-secondary studies in social sciences or healthcare related areas Availability to consistently work overnight shifts (including on weekends / holidays) G driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract, access to a vehicle and the proper insurance to transport clients in own vehicle is an asset The ideal candidate will also possess the following: Experience working with individuals with mental health issues, dual diagnoses, behavioural challenges, chronic pain, or addictions Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, including managing challenging behaviours (e.g., aggression, elopement, inappropriate conduct) Ability to work independently, take direction, and collaborate effectively with a team Willingness and ability to perform personal care, medication assistance, ADLs, administrative tasks, light cleaning, advocacy, and therapy implementation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Physically capable of bending, stretching, and lifting Highly organized with the ability to complete tasks within set timeframes Proficient with computers and secure email systems Committed to ongoing learning and professional development DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Work with individuals with acquired brain injuries while assisting them with increasing levels of independence through individualized rehabilitation programs (responsible for up to 5 clients at a particular time) Complete documentation following company and provincial guidelines Follow the designed rehabilitation program as accurately as possible Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs); performing personal care, medication management, and various forms of transfer tasks Utilize appropriate Crisis and Behavioural Management strategies Collect required clinical data through documentation, tracking, etc. Complete research to assist with enhancing client programs Other clinical and administrative duties as assigned Light housekeeping Ready to join us?
