New Generation, a program of Catholic Charities New Hampshire, is looking for a reliable and self-motivated Resident Support Staff (RSS) member to join our team on a part-time basis. This is a part-time opportunity (24 hours/week). The available shift is from 8am on Sunday morning through 8am on Monday morning. This position includes 8 hours of sleeping time. In addition to the $15/hr pay, you will also earn an additional $50 per weekend as an incentive.
The Resident Support Staff is responsible for providing one-on-one and group support to the residents of New Generation to help them achieve their goals as outlined in their action plans. The RSS also acts as a role model in establishing a sense of community for residents.
Many pregnant and single mothers experience homelessness due to domestic violence, financial hardship, mental health issues and substance use, among other challenges. New Generation provides comprehensive support – including a family-oriented shelter, transitional housing and aftercare services – to empower mothers with the skills, confidence and resources to build self-sufficient lives for their families.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree or coursework in social work preferred
  • Experience in a non-profit a plus
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment
  • Valid driver’s license and adequate car insurance require
Responsibilities
  • Assist residents in completing objectives on their client action plans, update client action plans
  • Provide general support and encouragement of the residents’ physical, emotional, social, and interpersonal development
  • Teach parenting and life-management skills on an informal daily basis
  • Complete weekly meal planning and chore chart; complete food shopping as needed
  • Ensure that guidelines are followed daily, report infractions to case manager
  • Complete all paperwork requirements, including staff notes regarding each resident when on duty
  • Contribute to the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the shelter
  • Maintain an inventory of needed items for shelter, and report to the appropriate person when items are needed
  • Work with care management team to facilitate care coordination and information sharing
  • Maintain transportation records to include daily tracking of millage, resident use, etc.
  • Provide transportation for residents as needed
  • Assists in the general upkeep of the shelter to include Room checks, Room turn over when family moves out, donation organization
