Job Title: Overnight Sanitation Supervisor
Reports To: Sanitation Manager / Plant Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Center Hill, FL
Shift: Overnight (hours vary based on production schedule)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Overnight Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the plant sanitation process during overnight hours to ensure the facility meets all USDA, OSHA, and company cleanliness and safety standards. This role directs and supports the sanitation crew in cleaning, sanitizing, and preparing equipment and work areas for the next production shift, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of sanitation or supervisory experience in a food processing or meat packing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of sanitation procedures, USDA and OSHA requirements, and food safety principles.
  • Experience in meat processing or beef packing preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work in cold, wet, and fast-paced environments.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including cold and damp areas.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and climbing.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise, train, and lead overnight sanitation employees, ensuring adherence to sanitation procedures and safety protocols.
  • Assign cleaning tasks and monitor progress to ensure completion within the allotted timeframe.
  • Inspect equipment, tools, and facility areas after cleaning to verify proper sanitation and readiness for production.
  • Maintain compliance with USDA, OSHA, and company sanitation policies.
  • Monitor and enforce proper use of PPE, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and chemical handling procedures.
  • Document sanitation activities, including cleaning schedules, inspection records, and corrective actions.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance, production, and quality assurance teams regarding sanitation-related issues.
  • Ensure sanitation chemicals are used correctly and inventory levels are maintained.
  • Address and resolve any issues that arise during the sanitation shift.
  • Participate in pre-operational inspections with QA staff.
  • Coach and counsel team members to maintain high performance and adherence to company standards.
