Job Description Position Summary The Overnight Security Officer ensures the safety and security of guests, employees, and hotel property during nighttime hours by monitoring premises, responding to incidents, and enforcing hotel policies. This role requires vigilance, professionalism, and strong problem-solving skills to maintain a secure and welcoming environment. This position reports to the Front Office Manager. Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities ⦁ Patrol hotel premises, including hallways, lobbies, and parking areas, to ensure safety and security ⦁ Monitor security cameras and alarm systems for any suspicious activity or emergencies ⦁ Respond promptly to guest and employee incidents, disturbances, or emergencies ⦁ Enforce hotel policies and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly environment ⦁ Assist with crowd control and manage unauthorized access to restricted areas ⦁ Conduct investigations and document security incidents with detailed reports ⦁ Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary ⦁ Aid guests and employees, including escorting individuals when needed ⦁ Perform routine safety inspections and report any hazards or maintenance issues ⦁ Handle lost and found items in accordance with hotel procedures ⦁ Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all security matters ⦁ Assist with emergency response procedures, including fire alarms, evacuations, and first aid as needed ⦁ Other duties as assigned Qualifications Education & Experience Requirements ⦁ One year of experience in security or law enforcement required ⦁ College degree preferred ⦁ Valid driver’s license ⦁ Bonded preferred ⦁ CPR preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities ⦁ Knowledge of fire safety and first aid ⦁ Proficiency in operating security systems, surveillance cameras, and alarm systems ⦁ Strong knowledge of security protocols, procedures, and emergency response plans ⦁ Proven record of honesty, integrity, and a strong attention to detail ⦁ Excellent observational and situational awareness skills ⦁ Strong verbal and written communication skills for incident reporting and guest interactions ⦁ Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and professionally ⦁ Ability to work hours which will be outside of normal business working hours ⦁ Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities ⦁ Ability to enforce hotel policies while maintaining a professional and guest-friendly demeanor ⦁ Ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies or security threats ⦁ Attention to detail when conducting inspections and writing reports ⦁ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment ⦁ Ability to remain alert, focused, and proactive during overnight shifts ⦁ Strong ethical standards and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion Additional Information Work Environment and Physical Demands ⦁ Ability to be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time ⦁ Regularly work in adverse conditions and requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces ⦁ Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance Job Benefits This position is classified as a regular full-time position eligible for the following benefits: Enrollment dates differ across various programs ⦁ Health, Dental and Vision Insurance Programs ⦁ Flexible Spending Account Programs ⦁ Life Insurance Programs ⦁ Paid Time Off Programs ⦁ Paid Leave Programs ⦁ 401(k) Savings Plan ⦁ Employee Ski Pass and Dependent Ski Passes ⦁ Other company perks The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
