Stevenson School is a PK-12 co-educational, college-preparatory, boarding and day school with enrollment of 750 students on two campuses in beautiful Central Coast California. The Upper Division campus (Grades 9-12) is located in Pebble Beach. The Lower/Middle Campus (Grades PK-8) is in nearby Carmel-by-the-Sea. Stevenson is a mission driven school that aims to help students shape joyful lives while instilling a passion for learning and achievement to prepare them for success in school and beyond. Stevenson School is seeking Overnight Summer Camp Counselors to start June 28, 2026. The Overnight Camp Counselors are essential to the success of the camp experience. In addition to supporting daytime activities, overnight counselors supervise dormitories, lead evening programming, and ensure the safety and well-being of campers during non-program hours. This is a live-in position that offers the opportunity to build deep connections with campers and help shape a memorable summer. The Camp at Stevenson offers 4, 1-week sessions for overnight campers. Counselors are able to work specific sessions or the entire summer, depending on their availability. Session 1: June 28 - July 4 Session 2: July 5 - July 11 Session 3: July 12 - July 18 Session 4: July 19 - July 25 In keeping with Stevenson’s core values, we seek candidates who demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion. Responsibilities Include: Camper Engagement & Supervision Lead and actively participate in a variety of daytime and evening activities Create a welcoming, inclusive dorm environment that promotes rest, safety, and community Support campers' emotional and social needs around the clock Dorm Life & Overnight Duties Conduct nightly check-ins and lights-out routines Supervise dormitories, ensuring camper safety and adherence to quiet hours Respond to overnight needs, emergencies, or camper concerns in a calm and timely manner Evening Programs & Campus Supervision Organize and lead evening events (campfires, games, movie nights, etc.) Ensure campers are safe and accounted for during transitions and free time on campus Safety & Well-being Monitor and uphold all camp safety protocols, including emergency procedures in the dorms Serve as an on-call point of contact during assigned overnight shifts Positive Role Modeling Maintain professionalism and positivity throughout all interactions Model respectful behavior, responsibility, and enthusiasm for campers Teamwork & Communication Work collaboratively with other counselors and leadership to support the camp mission Keep open lines of communication with dorm staff, directors, and families as needed General Camp Duties Participate in training, special events, field trips, and daily operations (setup/cleanup) Maintain cleanliness and order in shared living and program spaces Other duties as assigned by the Pebble Beach Camp Director Required Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older Experience working with children or teens in residential or overnight settings preferred Comfortable living and working in a dormitory-style environment Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills Ability to stay calm and responsive in overnight situations Commitment to creating a safe and inclusive space for all campers The anticipated range for this position is $750 per week. This is a seasonal, full-time position based on the Pebble Beach and Carmel Campus. This position also includes room & board.
