WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)

  • Completion of college diploma in Environmental Studies, Outdoor Recreation or related field
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C Certification
  • Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening. Employees/candidates under the age of eighteen (18) years are not eligible to have a VSS, therefore will not be required.

Experience

  • 1+ years of experience related to major tasks

Responsibilities
  • Assists with or leads instruction in overnight education centre programs, Summer Camp, March Break Camp and PD Days, while providing overnight on-site support
  • Performs administrative and clerical duties as assigned by on-site supervisor
  • Inspects building before and after groups arrive, and inspects and repairs basic equipment or supplies
  • As time permits, develops new individual games and activities that update existing lessons
  • Manages and monitors confidential information (students and teacher forms) including dietary restrictions, dorm plans and health/consent waivers; reviews health and consent forms for special needs
  • Teaches curriculum linked lessons and provides on-site overnight live-in support and supervision to visiting school group visitors.
  • Supports the needs of the location to ensure a positive visitor experience.
