TRADE OVERSEER – OVERSEER GROUND MAINTENANCE/PAINT 5D - SILVERWATER

Location: Dawn De Loas Correctional Centre – Holker St, Silverwater Correctional Complex
Employment type: Ongoing, Full Time
Salary: $91,700 pa + Incidental Allowance + Leave Loading + Superannuation
We are looking for a proactive and dedicated Trade Overseer to work at our Ground Maintenance Unit at the Dawn De Loas Correctional Centre, which is located on the Silverwater Correctional Complex.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possess a tertiary or trade qualification or equivalent experience in any of the following areas: Landscape Maintenance, Landscape Construction, Horticulture, or Building and Construction trade, or other related trade.

In the Trade (cancel Trade) Overseer role, you will need to;

  • Hold a current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or have the capacity to complete within timeframe
  • Hold a current NSW drivers’ licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle while performing the role.
  • Be willing to work across varying trades and areas in a flexible manner to support the team.
  • Be willing to work overtime to support team requirements and be willing to participate in a cyclic after hours on-call roster, where your trade skillset supports.
  • Hold Minimum Certificate III Trade qualification and have proven post trade experience, specific to the role listed.
  • Meet the Key Accountabilities and Focus Capabilities of the role
Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE:

You will be required to supervise and develop inmates through managing, coaching, instructing, and encouraging them, as members of a team, in order that they may improve their work skills, enhance their post-release employment prospects, and contribute productively to Business Unit objectives.
Oversee the activities of the team to ensure productivity efficiency and other commercial objectives are achieved whilst ensuring all Workplace Health & Safety, Quality Management requirements and customer service needs are met.

Successful candidates are provided with paid training to undertake Certificate III in Correctional Practice at an allocated Brush Farm Corrective Services Academy training facility.
