Position: Owner Driver (3.5T Bulk)
Contract Type: Self-Employed
Depot Location: Doncaster
Route Location: East Yorkshire Routes - Choose from Whitby, Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington, Driffield, Pickering, Kirkbymoorside, Thirsk
Shift: Days [approx. 07:30-17:00]
Salary: day rate £230.00 [plus VAT if registered] £4600 per month based on 5 day weeks
averaging 40-50 stops per day carrying large parcels and freight

SUMMARY:

A vacancy has arisen for a Pick-Up & Delivery Driver to work with our team at Bradford.
Positions available are Monday to Friday, delivering along the East Yorkshire coast. The ideal candidate would be local to these areas as there is no requirement to return on a daily basis provided the route is completed.
For this position, applicants must be able to supply their own van [or hire one], with carriage of goods for hire and reward insurance. The payment terms on this contract are £230 per day for an average of 40-50 stops per route. Vans must meet the requirements of; long wheel base, plain white, and less than 10 years old.
This is a permanent contract where full training and ongoing support is provided by our managers on site.
Drivers are welcome to arrive on site to load in their designated bay anytime between 07:00 and 08:30. Where possible we aim to keep drivers on the same route every day in order to develop a good working relationship with our regular customers.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Full manual UK Driving Licence – please note we do not accept licence endorsements for driving positions
  • Proof of previous employment (up to 5 years) and valid DBS certificate
  • A safety focused attitude with an understanding of our chain of responsibility
  • Reliability with a can-do attitude and the willingness to go above and beyond for our customers
  • A level of physical fitness allowing for this position that includes heavy lifting and manual handling
    Although previous experience of a role in this sector is advantageous, we are happy to provide on the job training and support to applicants who can show a level of enthusiasm and determination for the industry.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete appropriate vehicle safety checks in line with DVSA standards for commercial vehicles
  • Load your vehicle and restrain your load correctly each day
  • Deliver and pick-up consignments from local business, typically between 40 and 50 stops
  • Deliver to service, following company procedure to ensure the safe and secure delivery of consignments without damage
