QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a University Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural, or Nuclear
  • Must be rehistered or willing to register with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Engineer in Training (EIT) actively working towards a P.Eng license.
  • 4+ years of experience in a design engineering role is considered an asset
  • Must be able to obtain Federal Security Clearance
  • Must hold valid G2/G class license and have access to a vehicle
  • Must be willing to relocate to the Bruce County area or side in the area
  • Working knowledge of nuclear plant equipment and systems, design basis, and nuclear safety principles is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of the nuclear engineering change/modification process is considered an asset
  • Proven understanding of the nuclear industry and Canadian/Ontario regulatory codes standards, technical systems, equipment, methodologies, materials and design practices and criteria
  • Leadership capabilities, communication, issue resolutions, and interpersonal skills are essential
Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE:

Tetra Tech is actively seeking an Owners Engineering Lead based out of our client site in Tiverton, Ontario. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform oversight and engineering lead role for engineering designs of engineering systems, structures, and components belonging to Nuclear Generations Stations
  • Review and verify design calculations, technical specifications, and engineering drawings in accordance with applicable requirements, codes, and standards
  • Specify technical and design requirements, as well as requirements for commissioning, installation, etc.
  • Determine solutions for design issues by working with team members and interfacing with applicable stakeholders
  • Work to develop and meet engineering project schedules and budgets
  • Coordinate design work with other project team members and other disciplines
  • Perform engineering work in accordance with nuclear Engineering Change Control (ECC) process using Maximo software as a digital platform/database
  • Communicate and oversee design work with design agencies as well as manufacturers and suppliers. Vendor oversight requires specifying engineering requirements and deliverables, project tracking, issue support and resolutions, and verifying the deliverables meet the technical, quality, budget, and contractual requirements
  • Mentor and develop other design team members and perform other duties as needed
