We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Instrumentation / Electrician Technician within our Chemical Manufacturing Facility located in Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada. Qualifications: Education: Successful completion of a Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) Instrumentation Technician and/or Electrician. Basic knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations. Knowledge of and ability to operate basic computer software applications as well as outlook and to conduct research using the internet. The daily work tasks center around performing and documenting PMs, the repair and maintenance of various types of electrical equipment, notably motor and motor controls, valves and valve configuration, various types of transmitters and analyzers. Must be able to read drawings and follow specifications. Valid driver’s license required. Experience: Successful completion for the Instrumentation or Electrician Apprenticeship with equivalent experience program and have acquired relevant hands-on related work experience. Developed interpersonal / communication and ability to work cooperatively and respectfully within a team. Ability to deal with other staff / contractors with tact, diplomacy and courtesy. Must have relevant plant experience and be familiar with plant operations, chemical processing equipment, procedures and related systems. Ability to accurately use diagnostic tools. Required to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed to maintain a 24/7 operating plant. Physical requirements – Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position including climbing ladders and stairs, walking, bending, stooping etc. Must have good manual dexterity and experience using industrial hand tools and power tools. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms. Must be able to work in confined spaces, work at heights and work from platforms. Must have the ability and willingness to participate on the Emergency Response Team - Fire Brigade.
