Description
Plans, organizes, directs and staffs daily operations for off-site, Residential Delivery Drivers (non-DOT) to provide outstanding service to customers and to meet service and productivity goals. Essential Functions: Promotes safety above all by supporting and implementing safety best practices, requirements, and initiatives and embracing new safety technology. Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to: hiring, terminations, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, performance evaluation and management, discipline, addressing employee concerns and staff productivity. Coaches drivers to work more effectively through honest and direct conversations. Ensures compliance with FedEx policies and procedures, CSM, safety and injury reporting, training requirements and federal, state and local regulations. Adjusts routes and employee schedules to meet delivery commitments. Develops contingency plans for unexpected situations. Ensures thorough vehicle maintenance checks are conducted and audits vehicle maintenance records. Leads team in adapting to changing business requirements and new technology. Achieves Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for their organization. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education: High school diploma/GED required Minimum Experience: Two (2) years required previous management experience, operational leadership, military leadership or project/team leader experience, OR Three (3) years’ experience in transportation related coordination; OR A combination of one (1) year management with two (2) years of transportation related coordination experience. Other Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license Strong driving record and will require a motor vehicle background review Ability to lift up to 30lbs, or over 30lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information Ability to effectively provide employees instruction on process and practice Demonstrated ability to build professional rapport, effectively lead a team and positively influence diverse groups Ability to motivate a team to perform at the highest level by inspiring a shared vision and empowering them to act Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications required Ability to develop and effectively implement field operational processes Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions Working Conditions: May work in hot or cold temperatures, and in an environment with loud noise and fumes Manages off-site team Some travel may be required Preferred Qualifications: Pay Transparency: Pay: Additional Details: IB/ Hours may vary Federal Express Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer including, Vets/Disability.
