P3M Specialist - Planning – Functions will play a pivotal role in supporting business functions across the organisation to design and mobilise effective improvement and transformation initiatives. Working closely with stakeholders at all levels, the post holder will help shape problem statements, identify opportunities, and develop clear, actionable schedules to enable successful delivery. What you will be doing: Work with business units to understand current performance, operational challenges, and strategic drivers. Support stakeholders to articulate improvement opportunities, define scope, and structure work into deliverable phases. Facilitate the planning of transformation or improvement projects, including developing timelines, resource estimates, dependencies, and risk considerations. Collaborate with delivery teams and subject matter experts to ensure alignment between plans and operational capability. Maintain a consistent planning approach and quality standard across initiatives, supporting adoption of business tools and processes. Identify interdependencies between projects and advise on sequencing to maximise impact and minimise disruption. Act as a critical friend, challenging assumptions and helping teams test the feasibility and robustness of their improvement plans. Project Planning and Controls (PPC), or the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) desirable Demonstrable experience within a similar position/entry level qualification (HNC or Foundation Degree) desirable. Experience of developing schedules within a complex environment A willingness to become an associate or full member of the APM Strong knowledge and skills of scheduling software (ideally Primavera P6) and subsequent functionality.
