Responsibilities

This role will provide senior-level project and programme support to the Service Manager and Programme Leads across the Community, Health and Wellbeing Service, ensuring that project planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation activities are conducted to a high quality and consistent across the service. You will also support partnership working and the facilitation of key networks, the collation of information and research, communications and promotional activity and service level coordination of programmes of work and monitoring data.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provision of programme and project planning and development support across the service area
  • Supporting partnership working across the local authority, other statutory partners, voluntary sector partners, faith groups and businesses
  • Collect, analyse and report on project specific information to meet stakeholder requirements and key performance indicators and improve the use and effectiveness of software tools to support this
  • To undertake research and collate information to create evidence bases, data and insights from a range of sources to support the development of the service strategy, tactics, service and work plans
  • Support the coordination and development of existing and new networks and forums, providing co-ordination, facilitation, logistical support as well as proactive engagement with members
  • Establish consistent, fit for purpose processes and working practices across the project/programme team for key project processes such as status reporting, planning, financial management, risk/issue management, data protection, safeguarding, evaluation and monitoring.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships built upon trust, integrity and reliability, demonstrating excellence of project/programme support, administration and customer service.
  • Support the Service Manager in the development and good governance of the Community, Health and Wellbeing Service especially in relation to the successful deliver of projects and programmes of work.
  • Collaborate closely with the Council’s communications team to consistently raise the profile of the Service’s projects, programmes of work, outputs, outcomes and impact
  • Support Programme Leads to contribute to the development, reporting, monitoring and evaluation of Service, Group and Corporate plans, programmes of work and performance management frameworks

Essential criteria:

  • Understanding of issues related to health inequalities, poverty, and social disadvantage.
  • Knowledge of Gateshead, its challenges and opportunities, key organisations and the VCSE sector
  • Knowledge of project management tools/ methodology/ processes.
  • Knowledge of data collection, reporting, and monitoring methods.
  • Experience of providing a high level of project management and business information support across a Directorates or Service area for a range of officers of varying levels, within a complex, politically sensitive and customer focussed environment.
  • Research and data collection – experience of conducting research, planning data collection exercises and accurately presenting data and information to further project and programme outcomes and to support monitoring, evaluation and evidence of impact.
  • Ability to undertake research and analyse data, with excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels within both the Council and partner organisations.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, ability to prioritise, plan and deliver objectives within an agreed timeframe. Ability to manage own work and work as part of a project team, often working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective business-like relationships with key stakeholders of the service, demonstrating excellent customer service, trust and integrity.
  • A high degree of computer literacy, including knowledge and experience of working with the Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to understand and use a range of corporate systems including specific finance and HR systems.
