An opportunity has arisen for a Personal Assistant/Support Worker to support a young man who has profound physical and learning disabilities, severely impaired vision and epilepsy. His complex needs mean that he requires total support in all aspects of his life.
He has very limited means of communication how he is feeling and his PA will have to learn to recognise and respond to very small changes in his behaviour.
His PA will be required to:-
Manage his multi-sensory based day care programme flexibly and imaginatively to match his changing moods/needs each day
Take him out daily for community based activities which will include rebound therapy and hydrotherapy and outings, shopping and cafe visits.
Administer medication daily
attend to his personal care needs
keep a diary, attend meeting, appointments and training as appropriate
There will be a need for the PA to cover occasional weekends and sleep-ins.
To be able to carry out the full range of daily activities which this young man enjoys his PA must hold a full UK driving license
