The role | Te mahi We are seeking a Pacific Project Manager to play a pivotal role in establishing and supporting Te Moana Ora – Pacific Hub at the University of Otago, Christchurch. Reporting to the Associate Dean, Pacific, this role will establish the infrastructure required for the ongoing operation of Te Moana Ora and support initiatives that strengthen Pacific staff, student, and community engagement, in alignment with the University’s Pacific Strategic Framework. Central to this role is the development of reciprocal, values-based relationships that advance Pacific aspirations and outcomes. Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako You will bring strong relationship-building skills, an understanding of Pacific values and community engagement, and experience supporting projects or initiatives in complex organisations. You will be confident working collaboratively across academic, professional, and community contexts and be motivated by advancing Pacific wellbeing and success within tertiary education. Responsibilities will include: • Establishing and support the physical and virtual presence of Te Moana Ora – Pacific Hub at UOC • Developing and maintain a UOC-specific Pacific staff and student database • Building strong connections with UOC departments to enhance Pacific teaching and engagement • Supporting Pacific Advisory Research Komiti activities • Fostering meaningful, values-based relationships with Pacific staff, students, departments, and communities • Coordinating engagement activities using talanoa as a core approach • Providing advice on culturally appropriate practices and protocols • Supporting Pacific contributions to UOC events and cultural capability initiatives • Contributing to the delivery of the University of Otago Pacific Strategic Framework Further details/Pūroko This is a full time (37.5 hours) fixed term, position, located in Ōtautahi, Christchurch. You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this position. The appointment range for this role is $75,631 to $80,503 per annum (pro rata), Top of Range $88,750 (pro rata).
