JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Packaging and Ingredients Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Technician will be responsible for managing the full procurement cycle for the input products used in the production of our salad bowls, including packaging, ingredients, films, etc., for our two Canadian plants (Sherrington, QC and British Columbia) as well as our U.S. plant located in Florida.
The technician will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to efficiently meet business needs while encouraging partners to exceed expectations in terms of quality and service. Based on forecasts and MRP, they will follow up on purchase orders and actively participate in activities related to purchasing, sales, and transportation.
The candidate will join a dynamic team of over 25 people and will collaborate regularly with various internal and external partners, as well as other divisions of the organization.

Responsibilities

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively manage purchase orders, including issuing, creating, approving, accepting terms and conditions, tracking deliveries, documentation control, managing claims, and invoicing
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with multidisciplinary plant teams, distributors, and suppliers (over 50 suppliers and $70M in annual spend)
  • Act as an intermediary between the purchasing team, suppliers, and various internal clients
  • Manage inventory
  • Support the immediate supervisor with various tasks

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • College or university education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or any other relevant training
  • Knowledge of the supply chain process
  • Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written, is essential to communicate effectively with our plants in Florida and British Columbia and with our suppliers
  • Resourceful, curious, and demonstrates sound judgment
  • Strong organizational skills, initiative, and ability to manage priorities
  • Proficiency in ERP systems – experience in asset management is an asset
  • Positive attitude and passion for the role
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes and demonstrate flexibility
