The Packaging and Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supervising and supporting the day-to-day Packaging and Warehouse operations at the plant facility. Packaging operations include operating the packing lines and troubleshooting the equipment. Other duties will include the loading and coordinating of outbound loads as well as coordinating the labor to make sure all tasks are accomplished. This individual will also supervise and motivate the team, ensuring key targets and results are achieved, production objectives are met and a safe working environment. This position reports to the Packaging and Warehouse Manager and will have a team of 4 to 5 packing operators reporting to them.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalency; post-secondary degree is an asset.
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience in packaging and warehouse operations
  • Forklift certification or experience
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • Understanding of transportation and logistics is preferred.
  • Previous work in a food manufacturing operation is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and schedule employees for effective and timely fulfillment of packaging and warehousing schedules.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure availability of required packaging / shipping materials for fulfilling customer orders.
  • Training and coaching employees on process implementation and safety in the workplace.
  • Support in managing the site for morning and evening shifts and managing department personnel.
  • Planning and executing inventory count and reconciling inventory in system with actual physical inventory.
  • Manage the packaging and warehouse operations for safety and efficiency.
  • Review, complete and ensure the accuracy of packaging, warehouse and shipping related documents. Ensure all production orders are shipped to customers in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety codes, policies and procedures of the company and regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, training, and disciplinary actions.
