Description
Experienced in leading the development of product packaging across multiple categories and markets. Responsible for ensuring packaging aligns with brand identity, complies with FDA and Halal standards, meets export/import requirements, and is technically feasible for production. Oversees in-house designers, external agencies, and suppliers, while collaborating closely with business, marketing, product, and regulatory teams to deliver packaging that enhances product appeal, compliance, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Lead end-to-end packaging development from concept through final production across all product categories and markets Align packaging strategies with brand, business, and regulatory objectives (including FDA, Halal, and international market requirements) Manage internal designers, external agencies, and print suppliers to ensure design excellence and production efficiency Collaborate with Business, Marketing, Product Development, Regulatory, QA, and Sustainability teams to meet both creative and operational goals Prioritize and manage multiple packaging projects and timelines simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery across all SKUs and campaigns Creative Execution & Production Oversight Review and approve dielines, artwork, print proofs, and die-cut files, ensuring color consistency and brand fidelity Oversee material selection and recommend print production techniques (offset, flexo, gravure, digital) based on cost, quality, and feasibility Ensure accurate integration of translated content for export markets and proper typesetting across packaging and manuals Maintain consistency and correctness of packaging symbols, icons, and regulatory markings Maintain and evolve packaging brand guidelines, including typography, logos, color palettes, and imagery Drive innovation through trend research, creative ideation, and continuous improvement in materials, formats, and sustainability Compliance & Quality Control Ensure all packaging complies with relevant food safety standards, import/export regulations, and labeling requirements Liaise with regulatory and QA teams to manage risk and ensure packaging meets legal and technical standards across all markets Stay current on packaging regulations, materials, print innovations, and industry best practices Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or related field 10+ years of packaging design experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role Strong portfolio of FMCG or retail packaging, especially food, beverage, or personal care In-depth understanding of FDA regulations, Halal certification, and export/import packaging standards Hands-on knowledge of barrier packaging, materials, prepress workflows, and printing techniques Experience managing packaging for international markets and coordinating across multiple teams Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign Strong project management, leadership, and cross-functional communication skills High attention to detail with a strong eye for design, layout, and typography Nice-to-Have Experience with 3D mockup/rendering tools (e.g., Adobe Dimension, KeyShot, Artios CAD) Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly packaging materials Familiarity with packaging localization and artwork version control systems
