About the job
We’re currently recruiting a FTC Packaging Development Manager to work within our Own Brand team,
This role will support the implementation of the Brand & Trading strategy for the development of Own Brand products. You will ensure that all products deliver against their benchmark and that innovation & newness reflects customer needs. Your expertise will be vital in shaping the packaging strategy, blending strategic insight, technical knowledge, and innovative problem-solving to propel packaging innovation from conception to launch, particularly within our Own Brand Strategy.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Deliver innovation & packaging development across key commercial categories to deliver against Own Brand & Commercial targets.
• Ensure all primary and secondary packaging for new products is developed to the required quality standards and lands on time as part of agreed activity.
• Develop relationships with suppliers to ensure delivery of agreed iconic lines
• Actively seek out new trends and share with the business, both within the current market and future thinking
• Work closely with the Morrisons packaging team to deliver against cost reduction targets
• Implement and maintain packaging guideline documentation to share our brand standards and requirements within our external suppliers.
• Responsible for planning, executing and reviewing factory trials for assigned projects
• Develop a 5 year packaging strategy roadmap, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, product innovation, sustainability and market trends, through collaboration with the packaging, category and marketing team
• Input into shaping the packing innovation program for our brands, using experience from other brands and categories

This role is based at our fantastic head office in Bradford. Boasting an on-site restaurant, coffee shop, convenience and sample store, prayer room, free parking and regular company-wide events and promotions. Ideally, applicants will live within a reasonable distance of our office.
