Based in our Pune, India location, you will provide Packaging Engineering design solutions and support to leaders at global HVACR Technologies manufacturing locations. Your duties and responsibilities will be completed under the general guidance of the Packaging Engineering Manager for HVACR Technologies. You will exercise independent judgement and decision-making within the scope of this job. AS A PACKAGING ENGINEER, YOU WILL: Apply basic mechanical sciences to perform design analysis of packaging components, including industry standard packing tests, basic static/dynamic compression analysis, strength of materials, and design optimization. Create engineering drawings and CAD models for packaging components and assemblies. Implement returnable packaging designs to promote sustainability, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction. Operate computer programs to support design analysis and engineering efforts. Support project teams to develop and document packaging designs and specifications that meet the requirements of the product specifications and program charter. Produce and maintain accurate design records in accordance with specific project requirements using accepted corporate methods and Design Standards, including engineering notices, bills of materials, specifications, and related documentation. Provide support to product engineering, sales and marketing, engineering labs, manufacturing facilities, supplier quality, procurement, logistics, and advanced manufacturing. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or equivalent plus a minimum five (5) years work experience in related packaging design and/or manufacturing industry Five (5) years of ArtiosCAD, or AutoCAD experience Proficient with Adobe Illustrator for Graphic Design Knowledge of ASTM, ISTA, and NMFTA Industry Standard Packaging Testing Procedures Strong verbal and written communication skills and professional presentation skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and on a team Experience with the major packaging materials, processes, and machinery PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: Returnable packaging design techniques and process experience Knowledge of Bill of Materials and Oracle Database NX Software or equivalent for 3D models Knowledge of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements TOPS (Total Optimization Packaging Software) or CAPE (Computer Aided Packaging Engineering) experience Our Commitment to Our People Across the globe, we are united by a singular Purpose: Sustainability is no small ambition.
