Description
Successfully complete basic packaging / product development tasks, including any of the following: writing and/or verifying specifications; maintaining documentation; testing processes, equipment, raw materials, and product; and validating equipment and processes. Work independently to plan activities necessary to meet timelines. Complete packaging tests and experiments for new product development and existing design improvements. Perform troubleshooting on new problems, as related to design, material, or process. Summarize, analyze, and draw conclusions from test results. Generate packaging-related documentation, including specifications, test plans and reports, and other Product Development Plan (PDP) documents. As applicable, train technicians or operators on new processes or test procedures. Apply Technology Development Plan (TDP) and PDP methodologies. Serve as a core team member or extended team member on New Product Development (NPD) and Sustaining projects. Identify areas for improvements in design/manufacture/sustainability, suggest solutions, and submit Value Improvement Projects (VIP) records and Corporate Social Responsibility Sustainability Case Studies. Work cooperatively with various BSC departments, divisions, and suppliers, to ensure an improved, practical, and consistent approach to packaging. Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy. Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System. Keep abreast of new technologies and advances in medical device packaging. Bachelors of Science in Packaging Engineering or Packaging Science 0-1 year of experience Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio) Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization Knowledge of applicable medical device packaging regulations, equipment, testing, processes Ability to work in a cross-function teams High level of organizational skills to effectively manage simultaneous projects Strong communication and technical writing skills
