Job Description: Job Purpose/Overview This position is responsible for creating, developing and commercializing packaging initiatives that support core brand growth, efficiency and innovation for Mars Snacking Middle East Africa. This role provides technical support to troubleshoot key quality or manufacturing issues. Key Responsibilities Leads development of ‘fit for purpose ‘packaging platforms that are designed to maximize desirability/feasibility/viability/sustainability. Role supports the core growth and innovation projects. Also supporting ideating and realizing value leadership goals. Develops detailed packaging specifications to ensure quality materials and best value for money on all packaging components used at our facilities, co-packers and co-manufacturers. Initiates, coordinates and executes line trials at appropriate supply locations to confirm that quality attributes and performance metrics are achieved. Manages packaging suppliers to ensure proper execution of projects and recommends/qualifies new ones when appropriate. Coordinates the creation of high quality prototypes to gauge consumer desirability, influence teams and support customer collaboration. Collaborates with global Mars counterparts to spot opportunities for scale, ensure sharing of best practices and coordination of key activities. Note: May differ from the current job holder’s own skills and experience. 1. Education & Professional Qualification Minimum Qualifications: B.S. Packaging Science Degree or related technical discipline with 5+ years of experience. or Advanced degree in Packaging Science or related technical discipline with 2+yrs of experience. and/or Combination of education and 8+ years with increased responsibility and demonstrated success in relevant packaging field. 2. Knowledge/Experience Food/CPG and manufacturing experience preferred Solid understanding of key scientific principles associated with packaging. Demonstrated record of success performing research Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with teams.
