Overview Packaging Laborer Wanted! Mendocino Forest Products Company, LLC (MFP) is looking for a Packaging Laborer to join our Day Shift Team (5am - 3pm M-F, Sat 5am - 2pm) at our Ukiah, CA location. This is a non-exempt position, the hourly rate for this position is $24.87 and includes benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K matching and company paid Life Insurance. Responsibilities Packaging Laborere keeps production areas clean and safe and assists in other areas of sawmill in a safe and productive manner. Key Responsibilities: To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Performs a wide variety of jobs and duties as assigned, with a high level of proficiency and accuracy Regularly operates a forklift Keeps equipment and work area clean Performs as a relief operator on other jobs as needed Performs scheduled inspections on equipment and prepares reports as required for management and maintenance personnel Keeps designated areas, as assigned by supervisor, clean and clear of sawdust, wood chips, bark, strips and other foreign objects; Operates chain saw to cut up scrap lumber and broken logs; Uses hand tools to move sawdust, chips and bark into conveyors, bins and scoop on tractor; Operates Bobcat and forklift to transport debris to conveyors or disposal site; May pull strips off of transfer chains into conveyors to chippers; May keep lumber straight on transfer chains to trimmer; Empties all garbage cans in and around sawmill; Provides assistance where needed. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 months related experience and/or training; or one year equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred forklift license or ability to train to obtain license Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to read and understand instructions and memos and write simple sentences.
