JOB OVERVIEW
The Packaging Manager is responsible for overseeing all cannabis packaging operations and order fulfillment. The Packaging Manger will ensure products are prepared accurately, compliantly, and efficiently for sale. This position oversees the packaging department and enforces company standards for product quality, labeling, and inventory accuracy. The Packaging Manager works closely with compliance, sales, and distribution teams to meet production and sales goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and schedule daily packaging operations, assigning tasks and monitoring productivity.
- Ensure all cannabis products are packaged and labeled in full compliance with Division of Cannabis Control regulations, including child-resistant and tamper-evident packaging and accurate product registration and label information.
- Maintain and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for packaging, labeling, and storage.
- Oversee packaging staff training in compliance, GMP standards, and company procedures.
- Coordinate with cultivation, processing, and inventory teams to align packaging output with sales and distribution needs.
- Track and reconcile inventory in METRC, ensuring all product weights and movements are accurately recorded.
- Implement and monitor quality control checks to ensure consistent presentation, accurate labeling, and compliance with branding standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized packaging environment in compliance with OSHA and state sanitation requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Support regulatory inspections and respond to audit requests related to packaging compliance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of packaging or production management experience, ideally in cannabis, food, or pharmaceuticals.
- Knowledge of Ohio cannabis packaging and labeling requirements.
- Proficiency with METRC or seed-to-sale tracking software.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
- Familiarity with GMP, OSHA, and food/pharma handling standards a plus.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
