About the role: This position involves developing and supporting mechanical designs for advanced optical components and systems. The mechanical engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to capture product concepts, document component and process flows, and perform analytical studies on material and packaging performance. Responsibilities: Create and maintain mechanical models and drawings of the latest optical product designs using SolidWorks. Collaborate with electrical, optical, and process engineers to document and visualize design concepts and product architecture. Capture and document component flow across assembly and test processes. Support material and packaging selection, including epoxy and mechanical housing choices. Perform thermal, structural, and strain analyses, including root-sum-square (RSS) tolerance analysis, to ensure mechanical reliability and performance. Generate detailed visualizations and renderings for engineering reviews and design presentations. Contribute to continuous improvement of design documentation and engineering workflows. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drafting. Experience with rendering and visualization tools such as SolidWorks Visualize. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools for documentation and report generation. Familiarity with COMSOL or equivalent for multiphysics simulations is an advantage. Solid understanding of thermal and structural analysis principles, materials behavior, and mechanical design for assembly and manufacturability. Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment.
