JOB SUMMARY:

The Packaging Specialist is primarily responsible for the preparation, deburring and finishing parts, visual inspection (checking for rust, burs, and corrosion), and packaging finished products to ensure that they are safely and efficiently prepared for shipping and meet the requirement of our packing procedures. This position will be responsible for counting parts, maintaining packaging supplies, and conducting visual inspections to help maintain our on-time delivery of products. There must be a high level of detail and awareness for this role, as well as great communication between this role and the Shipping Manager, to create smooth facility processes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in packaging, manufacturing, or related fields is preferred (aerospace experience is ideal, but not required)
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Good physical stamina, with the ability to lift to up 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and awareness.
  • Strong self-starter, with great organizational skills to self-manage their day.
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Commitment to safety standards and their continuous improvement.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Able to use a computer/tablet
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with small or precision parts
Responsibilities
  • Packaging:
  • Prepare and package machined components and finished products according to packaging procedures.
  • Ensure part counts are correct according to the order.
  • Utilize and add the correct oil/lubricant and the accurate amount.
  • Visually inspect products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards before packaging.
  • Deburing & finishing of parts.
  • Select appropriate packaging materials based on product size, weight, and shipping requirements.
  • Assemble and seal as required to do so.
  • Maintain inventory of packaging materials and request supplies as needed.
  • Track and record packaging data, including quantities, materials used, and packaging specifications.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in packaging operations.

    o Ensure compliance with all company policies and standards.
    o Uphold a high standard of cleanliness throughout the entire company.
    o Maintain a safe and accident-free area within the company and address any possible safety concerns immediately.
    § Stay familiar with all company safety initiatives and policies throughout your area.
    § Maintain constant awareness of the company’s hazards and the use of PPE required to ensure a safe work environment.

    Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
