REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

· 5+ years of previous production/packaging operations management experience, strongly preferred in Nutraceutical, Pharma, Cannabis or Food/Beverage industries

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Operations Management, Finance, or similar relevant field
  • Must be proficient with the operations of GPP/GMP environment
  • Knowledge of raw materials, quality management system, Lean Six Sigma
  • Mechanical aptitude, ability to understand/work safely with tools and machines
  • A hands-on management approach that encourages excellence, process change and creative problem solving
  • Ability to manage process, proactively, collaboratively all the while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Knowledge of principles of production planning, inventory management and forecasting
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, team building skills, influencing & negotiation skills.
  • Strong computer skills, especially using software like Excel and SAP
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Packaging Supervisor plans, directs, and coordinates packaging operations. Duties and responsibilities include supervising production employees to ensure an efficient workflow and timely completion of work. This job involves managing a company’s resources to improve productivity and minimize downtime, while at the same time increasing profits and reducing costs. This role will also provide direction to supporting departments to realize stated corporate driven goals. This is a weekend shift position from Thursday to Sunday., alternating day and afternoon shifts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Setting daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicating them to packaging employees
· Organizing workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules, overseeing, coaching counseling, and disciplining employees.
· Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance
· Execute plans to ensure compliance with all regulations, HACCP, GMP, BRC and Quality Assurance programs.
· Starts and adjusts packaging machinery or notifies maintenance department in a timely fashion.
· Track efficiencies & productivity against targets, measure results and communicate performance.
· Ensures that equipment is operating properly and efficiently by reviewing the processes in place to support the production KPIs, cost, OEE, quality and delivery.
· Identifies and implements improvements in the processes to achieve shift targets.
· Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards
· Create, maintain and communicate all relevant documentation including SOP’s, batch reports and compiling records
· Evaluate each station of the packaging process to ensure maximum efficiency.
· Develop and deliver training on the packaging staff to ensure understanding of key quality, efficiency and production standards are met.
· Providing feedback to various departments regarding packaging issues and timelines.
· Other duties as assigned
