Job Description The Packaging Systems & Documentation Specialist provides foundational administrative and documentation support to the Packaging Engineering department within a food manufacturing environment. This role is focused on accurate data entry, organization, and maintenance of packaging specifications and standards. Responsibilities Enter and update packaging specification data within approved databases and document control systems. Verify basic information by referencing engineering drawings, supplier documents, and internal standards under the guidance of Packaging Engineers. Assist in preparing and formatting technical documents related to packaging materials and components. Maintain organized records of packaging standards, ensuring documents are properly filed and version-controlled. Support revision tracking and assist with routing documents for review and approval. Distribute updated standards to relevant departments following established communication protocols. Organize digital files and maintain documentation in accordance with food industry record-keeping requirements. Prepare simple reports, logs, and summaries related to packaging documentation activities. Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and record minutes as needed. Assist with general administrative tasks, including document formatting, template updates, and data accuracy initiatives. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or training in business administration, technical fields, or related areas is beneficial. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to learn new software tools and follow structured procedures. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage routine tasks reliably. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a clerical, administrative, or document-handling role. Exposure to food manufacturing, packaging, or consumer packaged goods environments. Familiarity with document management systems, PLM/ERP platforms, or quality management systems. Basic understanding of packaging materials or technical documentation. Work Environment The position operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM in a nice office setting. The dress code is business casual. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Sacramento, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
