Job Description About The Role: We are seeking an experienced Packaging Technologist / Specialist to undertake a high-impact project focused on assessing our current packaging portfolio and delivering a clear, actionable roadmap to simplify operations, strengthen brand presence at point of purchase, and unlock sustainable cost savings. This 6-month full-time or part-time contract will focus on rationalising SKUs, formats, and materials while ensuring customer needs, retail requirements, and brand impact remain central to all recommendations. Reporting to the Marketing & Innovation Director APAC, this role requires an experienced FMCG packaging expert with strong project management capability and the ability to influence across Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams. What You’ll Do: Lead a Current State Assessment: Review all packaging formats, materials, and specifications. Analyse SKU complexity, pack variations, and duplication, while evaluating operational impact across procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics. Identify key cost drivers. Deliver Customer & Channel Insights: Assess customer requirements across retail, wholesale, and e-commerce. Evaluate shopper behaviour and point-of-purchase impact, recommending optimised formats that balance efficiency, brand presence, and commercial performance. Develop a Rationalisation Strategy: Define clear criteria to streamline SKUs and formats. Recommend consolidation, redesign, or standardisation opportunities, including sustainability and material optimisation improvements. Quantify Financial & Operational Impact: Model projected cost savings and operational efficiencies. Assess risks and provide a phased, prioritised implementation roadmap. Lead Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate cross-functional workshops, present findings to senior leadership, and align packaging strategy with brand, commercial, and operational priorities. Qualifications What You Bring to the Table: 5–10+ years’ experience in a strategic packaging role within FMCG (ANZ experience highly regarded) Deep technical expertise in flexible packaging, barrier materials, sealing technologies and high-speed production environments Proven experience delivering packaging optimisation or cost-reduction projects at scale Demonstrated cross-functional leadership across Operations, R&D, Procurement and Commercial Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate technical insights into financial outcomes Excellent project management capability with milestone-driven delivery Who You Are: Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, hands-on execution mindset Authentic, collaborative and resilient – you bring your full self to every interaction Accountable and solutions-focused, balancing urgency with long-term outcomes Influential and confident engaging senior stakeholders Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced FMCG environment Additional Information Why Join Jack Link’s?
