1st Shift Packer Pay Range $17.00 to $22.60 Hire-In Pay Rate Based on Experience 3rd Street Foundry General Information Position: Packer The Packer is responsible for performing a final inspection of castings prior to attaching proper labeling and packaging for delivery to the Distribution Center. Department Operations Location South Pittsburg Exempt Status Non-Exempt Job Description 1. Reports To: * Packing Supervisor 2. Direct Reports: * None 1. Functional Relationships: * Employees * Supervisors and Managers * Others as needed 1. Responsibilities: * Remove casting from the seasoning line. * Inspect/Sort casting for first quality, second quality and scrap. * Attached proper hang tag, drop in, and/or label to first and second quality castings based on labeling requirements. * Remove scrap castings and place in scrap bin. * Ensure castings are placed in the correct package. * Utilize tape machine and/or tape dispenser to close package. * Stack packages on pallets in quantities and configurations according to the Item Sheet guidelines. * Transport pallets to be bundled by the Lantech wrapping machine. * Utilize scanning equipment to correctly label the wrapped bundle. * Transport wrapped pallet to the staging area for transport to the warehouse by stock truck. * Maintain a clean work environment in accordance to the 5L guidelines. * Assist with or perform all other job related duties as assigned. 1. Basic Requirements: * High school diploma or GED. 1. Summary of Necessary Knowledge, Experience and Skills: * Minimum two years previous Packing experience preferred. * Working knowledge of PC and Microsoft Office programs preferred. * Basic Hand Tool Knowledge * Tape Machine Knowledge * Tape Dispenser Knowledge * Label Dispenser Knowledge * Glue Gun Knowledge * Bailing Tool Knowledge * Lantech Wrapping Machine Knowledge * Scanning Equipment Knowledge * Forklift License Preferred 1. Working Conditions: * Job performance requires employees to stand, walk, lift, grasp, bend and reach. * Lifting up to 25lbs. is required * Exposure to moving parts such as the seasoning line and conveyor, dust, forklift fumes and ambient temperatures of + or – 10 to 15 degrees. * Safety glasses and hearing protection are required. * Sturdy leather construction shoes are required. Shoes made of canvas or cloth will not be allowed, unless steel-toe. Composite or Steel-Toe Safety Footwear is strongly recommended. * Packing gloves are available; Lodge uniform or similar protective clothing is required. Responsibilities

Perform final inspections of castings and apply proper labeling and packaging for delivery to the Distribution Center. Manage the movement of packaged goods using pallets and scanning equipment while maintaining a clean work environment.
