JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION SUMMARY: Food Production - Packer Operator - Full Time - Kansas City, KS Starting pay: $23.35/HR This facility is a highly automated meat processing/packaging facility located in Kansas City, KS. This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of products through the production process and ensuring proper ingredients/supplies are being used on the line. It is also responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying the supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include, but are not limited to the following) Operator Care-Basic lubrication, inspection adjustments, repairs, cleaning (CLAIR LEAN Manufacturing- Contribute to a continuous improvement environment by participating in activities to include line side problem solving. 5S program (Andon System Stoplight)- Contribute to a safe and organized work environment by maintaining a clean and orderly workspace. Perform perfect packaging checks. Safely and efficiently resolve jam ups and equipment malfunctions. Identify material quality defects and take appropriate action. Weigh rework using a floor scale and Human Machine Interface (HMI) workstation. Operate handheld digital scanner. FOR ALL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation) Must be willing and able to be exposed to a cold/damp work environment with temperatures ranging from 28-42 degrees. Must be willing and able to lift, push, or carry up to 50 lbs. Must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment and requires repetitive motions. Must be willing and able to stand, bend, reach overhead, and twist for extended periods. Must be willing and able to stand 8-12 hours a day on a hard floor. Must be willing and able to perform physical lifting/moving, bending to stock material from inventory location to robotic equipment (Min 25 LBS).
