Description

The Packer will play a crucial role in supporting our Finishing and Warehouse departments. This role reports to the Production Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Pull master rolls from Press Department and move to Finishing staging area to be used by Rewind operators * Assemble boxes for use in packing finished goods * Place rolls of finished product in cartons, tape & label cartons of finished goods * Place completed cartons on skid or cart * Label completed skids and takes to scale for weighing * Convey finished skid to warehouse holding location to be placed into inventory * Replenishes stock of raw materials at each Rewind station and in the Rewind Area using pallet jack * Completes paperwork QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience * One year of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment, preferred * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals * Superb attention to detail and product quality * Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus * Regularly exposed to noise, dust, odors, and oils * Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines * Superb attention to detail and product quality * Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines related to operating machinery Physical Requirements: * Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment (24-hour turnaround on product) * Aptitude for mechanical operation * Ability to stand and walk for extended periods * Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance * Excellent attendance and punctuality; accurately record work time on a daily basis

Responsibilities

The Packer supports Finishing and Warehouse departments by moving master rolls, assembling and packing finished goods into cartons, labeling skids, and conveying completed skids to inventory. This role also involves replenishing raw materials at rewind stations using a pallet jack and completing necessary paperwork.
