About the opportunity We’re looking for a proactive, organised, and people-focused Packhouse Team Leader to support the smooth and efficient running of operations at our Whakatu Packhouse. As a Packhouse Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for ensuring your shift runs effectively, safely, and in line with operational, quality, and production requirements. You will support staff, maintain workflows, and help create a positive and productive workplace culture. Hours of work vary seasonally, with day shifts in the off-season and night shifts during peak production periods. Key responsibilities include: Lead and support staff to maintain an efficient, safe, and positive work environment Ensure smooth shift operations, including start-up, shutdown, and clear handovers Meet daily/weekly production requirements and communicate updates to the team Ensure staff follow standard procedures, quality standards, and food safety rules Monitor plant and equipment to maintain efficient and reliable operation Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-presented packhouse Train, coach, and onboard staff as needed Manage staffing levels, performance, and attendance Ensure accurate data entry and correct handling of product Record incidents and lead by example in Health & Safety About you Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire your team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture Able to build strong relationships with staff and colleagues at all levels Solutions-focused and able to remain calm under pressure Passionate about developing people and supporting continuous improvement Apply now At T&G Global, we grow, pack, and deliver fresh fruit and vegetables to the world.
