Description
Regional West Medical Center is seeking an experienced PACS Administrator to lead and support the imaging technology infrastructure across our health system and affiliated facilities. This role is essential to ensuring imaging systems are available, secure, fully integrated, and optimized to support patient care, radiologists, technologists, and referring providers. The PACS Administrator serves as the system expert for imaging applications, workflow optimization, connectivity, and imaging IT strategy, while collaborating closely with Radiology leadership, Information Systems, vendors, and external partners. Qualifications Required * Previous PACS administration experience. * Strong knowledge of healthcare imaging systems and IT workflows. * Experience troubleshooting complex imaging and IT issues. * Excellent communication and project management skills. Preferred * Imaging Technologist background. * Graduate of an accredited Radiography Program. * ARRT certification. * Experience with Epic RIS and enterprise PACS environments. Key Responsibilities Imaging Systems Management * Administer and support PACS, RIS, dictation, mammography, and related imaging systems. * Maintain advanced knowledge of PACS (e.g., IntelePACS), RIS (Epic), dictation systems (PowerScribe), and mammography platforms (MagView). * Ensure daily system functionality, troubleshooting issues, and resolving PACS exceptions. Project Management & Technology * Lead selection, testing, implementation, and upgrades of imaging systems and interfaces. * Evaluate emerging imaging technologies and make recommendations to Radiology leadership. * Test new equipment, software, upgrades, and interfaces prior to go-live. Connectivity & External Support * Maintain connectivity for imaging and reporting with affiliate hospitals and non-Regional West facilities. * Support remote reading stations and radiologist hardware. * Coordinate imaging system communication with Community Connect and UCHealth partners. Security, Compliance & Downtime Planning * Manage user access, passwords, and system security for all imaging applications. * Ensure HIPAA compliance, privacy, and confidentiality. * Create and maintain downtime and disaster recovery procedures. Training & Education * Develop and maintain training materials for imaging systems. * Provide training and ongoing support for Imaging Services staff. * Oversee system education initiatives for new and existing users. Leadership & Collaboration * Supervise PACS analysts and assigned imaging IT staff. * Collaborate with Information Systems, vendors, and Radiology leadership. * Assist with budget planning, reporting, and performance improvement projects.
