Description Essential Job Functions: Will assess patients prior to surgery. Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and in order. Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure. Initiate IVs and ensure that patients are informed about the procedure. Assess patients’ post-operative condition. Monitor vital signs. Log all findings in patient’s medical record. Answer patient questions and ensure they are kept comfortable. Educate patients and their families on post-operative instructions. Monitor patients for condition changes and report any changes to the physician. Will support the Nurse Coordinator Perform intervention duties in cases of post-operative emergencies. Requirements Education, Licensure and Experience Minimum 2-3 years management experience in a PACU environment. Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in nursing or other health-related field or equivalent work experience. MHN preferred. Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License required. Successful completion of BLS, ACLS and PALS. Required Skills and Abilities Demonstrates competence in reacting to and handling emergencies. Acute attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy, and discipline. Strong documentation and computer skills. Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions. Excellent communication skills, including both oral and written. $56.86 | $62.55 | $68.80
