As a joint venture with United Surgical Partners International (USPI) and part of the Memorial Hermann Health System, we specialize in a wide range of procedures with a commitment to safety, efficiency, and excellence. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced PRN PACU Registered Nurse to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit team. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient recovery, able to respond swiftly in critical situations, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced setting. * Deliver compassionate, efficient care to patients in the immediate post-anesthesia phase * Monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications following surgery * Manage airway, pain control, and vital signs until patients meet discharge criteria * Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly * Administer medications and respond to changes in patient status using sound clinical judgment * Provide patient education and post-op instructions to patients and their families * Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and fellow RNs to ensure seamless transitions of care * Adhere to infection control and patient safety standards at all times
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse will deliver compassionate and efficient care to patients in the immediate post-anesthesia phase, monitoring them for complications and managing vital signs until discharge criteria are met. Responsibilities also include accurate documentation, administering medications, and collaborating with the surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
