Employment Type: Part time Shift: Day Shift Description: Position Purpose: At Naugatuck Valley Surgical Center, part of Saint Mary's Hospital, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) delivers patient care for same-day surgeries. This role focuses on providing high-quality recovery care for patients undergoing outpatient procedures in a fast-paced ambulatory surgical environment. What You Will Do Deliver post-operative care to patients recovering from same-day surgical procedures, ensuring safe emergence from anesthesia and readiness for discharge. Monitor vital signs, manage pain and nausea, and provide patient education and discharge instructions. Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety. Minimum Qualifications Required: Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required. Valid RN license in Connecticut The ideal candidate will have one or more years of PACU experience supporting inpatient surgical recovery Preferred: Candidates with Emergency Room or ICU experience with 2+ years of experience may be considered if they demonstrate expertise in ICU-level ventilated patient care, critical drips (e.g., vasopressors, sedatives), and strong assessment skills.
