CHILDREN’S NURSE OPPORTUNITY IN SANDWICH

Join our dedicated team providing compassionate, one-to-one care for a child with complex health needs in their home.
We are seeking an empathetic Registered Nurse in Sandwich to provide dedicated, one-on-one care during nights. We have a vacancy for a part time nurse working 1-2 shifts per week. You’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for a child requiring specialised medical support.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Commitment to 2 regular shifts per week.
  • Ability to fit seamlessly into the school setting.
  • UK driving license and access to own vehicle.
  • Compassion, confidence, and a gentle caring nature.
  • Experience in delivering care to complex clients, preferably in the community.
  • Clean and valid Registered Nurse pin with at least 1 year post-registration experience.
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer enteral feeds via dual balloon gastrostomy and jejunostomy tubes.
  • Manage bile drainage through a bile bag.
  • Administer prescribed and rescue medications.
  • Provide oxygen therapy and monitor saturation levels.
  • Perform suctioning (deep suction if trained); in emergencies, the child’s mother can intervene.
  • Monitor and respond to seizure activity.
  • Assist with safe moving and handling.

  • Provide 1-2-1 support to a child with Complex Care needs.
  • Work closely with the Nurse Manager Team to provide quality care to a paediatric client.
  • Commit to a regular working pattern and collaborate with Care Coordinators for effective care delivery.
  • Build rapport with clients and families, working within the family home to achieve individual goals.
  • Potential for growth and development into a supervisor or management role.
