Paediatric Intensive Care Consultant – Regional Queensland We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Specialist / Staff Specialist in Paediatric Intensive Care to join a high-acuity service that is critical to the health of children across regional Queensland. This is a full-time, 12-month appointment with potential for secondment to a tertiary paediatric ICU for those seeking further sub-specialty experience. The Role As part of a dedicated PICU team, you will: Provide specialist care for critically ill infants and children in a 5-bed PICU/PHDU with surge capacity for up to six ventilated patients Manage a diverse, complex casemix including medical, surgical, trauma, and oncology cases Participate in retrievals from a wide regional network covering Cairns, Mackay, Mount Isa, and surrounding regions Supervise and mentor junior doctors and trainees, fostering a strong culture of learning Engage in quality improvement, research, and service development initiatives Why This Role?
