To manage the clinical area ensuring the protocols, policies and procedures are adhered to. Provide a service to the agreed standard, meeting organisational and national targets. Participation in Audit and Research, developing research based practices. Dedicated lead for the 4 bedded oncology unit and have the overview of that service including overview of training and development of the team.

• To assess and define patient needs, develop and implement family centred patient care packages providing direct clinical care which is evidence based. - To communicate effectively, throughout the multidisciplinary team and outside agencies, especially where patients ability to do so is compromised. Act as patient advocate. - Ability to disseminate contentious and delicate information appropriately.
• To administer medication and treatment within Procedure for ordering, Prescribing and Administration of Medication Guidelines. - To deliver safe care within a challenging and changing clinical environment, ensuring staff skill mix remains at an appropriate and safe level.
