We seek a driven and dynamic leader to join our team as a full-time Pain Nurse Practitioner for our clinic in Heights and surrounding locations.  The Nurse Practitioner functions as a clinical provider responsible for maintaining and promoting the health of patients requiring acute care. The Nurse Practitioner affects direct patient care according to the nurse practice act of the State of  Texas. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  • Conducts complex and standardized patient care procedures, which require experience and specialized training that would otherwise be performed by a physician, but which do not constitute the practice of medicine. • Performs relevant patient assessments and physical examinations and provides appropriate treatment. • Coordinates, directs, and implements patient’s plan of care. • Performs minor surgical procedures as delegated by the supervising physician. • Manages pre-operative and post-operative patients in coordination with the faculty supervising physician. • Utilizes advanced assessment skills to anticipate complex patient problems specific to surgery while communicating information to supervising/attending physician. • Orders, conducts, and interprets pertinent laboratory and diagnostic studies and procedures. • Makes medical recommendations and/or referrals. • Formulates, implements, and evaluates an outcome-based treatment plan. • Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient’s treatment plans and outcomes.Enters chart documentation for review and counter signature by the physician. • Facilitates patient education relating to medical processes, medication, nutrition, and health promotion or postsurgical care. • Collaborates with patients, families, other clinicians, and referral services to assist in the patient’s recovery. • Performs other duties as assigned.   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: • Responsible and accountable for own professional practice. • Knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and business practices. • Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information. • Ability to adapt and demonstrate flexibility   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Master’s degree in nursing • Registered Nurse with Current Texas license • Texas Board of Nursing Advance Practice Registered Nurse license (APRN) • Prescriptive authority privileges through the State of Texas • BLS, ACLS certified • Valid Texas Driver’s License   BENEFITS OFFERED: * 3 Medical Plans * 2 Dental Plans * 1 Vision Plan * Employee Assistance Program * Short and Long-Term Disability Insurance * Basic and Voluntary Life with AD&D Plan * 401(k) with a 2-year vesting * PTO + Holidays Please visit our website for more information: minivasivepain.com Minivasive Pain and Orthopedics is an outpatient clinic network serving the greater local Houston, TX area.
