Benjamin Moore, Island Paint & Floor is seeking an ambitious individual to join our team at our Nanaimo location. We aspire to go above & beyond for our customers and employees - and will train on product knowledge to make the job run seamlessly for you, and the customers you are assisting.
This position will assist customers with design advice, and paint/flooring knowledge. Helping customers pick their perfect colours - as well as finding the correct products for their needs, is the main responsibility of this job. Whether our customers walk through the doors or call-in, we strive to give them the best advice, experience, and customer service possible.
Daily Tasks Include:
- Greeting customers
- Answering calls
- Assisting with any questions
- Providing design advice/recommendations
- Tinting & mixing of paint/stains
- Handling cash and using POS system
- Stocking shelves & product
- Maintaining store cleanliness
Required Qualifications:
- Customer service experience is required
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to retrieve product from shelves (with or without a ladder)
- Must be able to carry and lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to operate a pallet jack
- Must be able to distinguish the difference between colours and see the full colour spectrum
- Must have basic computer skills and communication via telephone
Extra Qualifications:
- Design/Art background
- Flooring/Trades knowledge
- Painting experience
- Willing to cover and/or work in our Parksville location when needed (coverage/vacation/sickness)

Minimum hours: 40 hours/week
