Description
General Function: In this role, the person will prepare surfaces and apply wet spray or powder coating to our manufactured products. Job Duties: * Work as part of a team having responsibility for the painting of metal parts used to produce a variety of finished products * Prepare surfaces to be coated and hang product as necessary * Set up and maintain equipment (spray guns, booth, filters, etc.) * Prepare coating mixings (mix paints and powder coat containers, etc.) * Apply coatings per specifications and customer requirements * Remove the product from lines and disperse it to the proper location * Maintain pre-paint operations per established parameters. * Perform coating tests per customer specifications. * Perform all functions that support the paint line, including management of hooks, racks, and load bars. * Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned. Working Conditions: * This is a safety-sensitive position in a non-office environment with exposure to a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment where ambient air temperature can occasionally exceed outside air temperature. * Flexible to change schedule and hours of work to meet the needs of the Plant; * Must be able to bend at waist and knees, walk and stand for extended periods. * Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds when necessary. * Must be able to stoop, crawl under or over, and frequently climb (stairs). * Hand and finger dexterity, plus hand and eye coordination Required Education, Skills, & Experience: * High School Diploma or equivalent * Prior paint shop experience preferred but not required * Knowledge of paint tools and equipment as well as hand tools preferred * Ability to understand written and oral instructions * Ability to follow quality/customer procedures and recognize quality issues * Ability to rotate, fill in, or assist in other jobs as needed * Ability to communicate in English required
