About the Job: Job Summary: The employee prepares manufactured machinery for paint by cleaning off any unwanted residue or particles from parts/equipment. Also fixing imperfections. Work Hours - Monday - Thursday 6:00 am to 4:45 pm Friday will be determined by production demands. Saturday will be a possibility and will be determined by production demands. Duties and Responsibilities: This is an entry level position - you need basic prep knowledge - sanding, scraping and chipping welds, taping parts not to be painted and pressure washing parts/subassemblies. Must be able to operate a forklift or willing to learn to operate a forklift. Use a 3-wheel hydraulic cart to move machines around the paint area. Must practice good safety and be willing to wear all required PPE (protective personal equipment) Must be able to learn to operate LEEBOY equipment Must learn colors assigned to each part or subassembly (yellow, black and gray) Must be able to operate a pressure washer/ operate valve to introduce chemicals to the washing process Will use pressure washer to clean with an over lapping method with chemicals to remove oils/grease from equipment to be prepped. Must be able to use hand tools, air tools and electric tools for sanding, grinding, buffing, cleaning up welds and cleaning booths. Must be able to fix basic imperfections (rust spots/scratches/gouges/dents) in metal with air tools/grinders/sanders removing imperfections, filling in using putty (polyester putty or Bondo) Must be able to use an air blower over parts/machines after going through the pressure washing process. Must be able to set up paint booths with machines, parts, or parts rack. Must be able to load/unload paint booth. Must be able to move parts from racks to correct locations for production lines. Must inspect parts/machines for imperfections in paint - if imperfections are noticed, the employee must return them to the prep area to be repaired or fixed.
